Called by the Lord at 13, Pastor Nate is a dedicated bible student and lover of God. He graduated from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, CA, then furthered his education at Promise Christian University, earning a degree in Pastoral Counseling in 2004. In 1990, he started the Carriers of Faith Outreach Ministry, serving the California Correctional Center for 20 years. In 1993, he and his sister, Apostle Doris Hampton, opened Brighter Day Ministries (BDM) in Montclair, California. BDM has faithfully served the community over the last 27 years, now located in La Verne, California.
He also served on the Board of Directors for Behavior Health Services for 15 years. He served as Assistant Pastor of The Upper Room Christian Church of Los Angeles. He was the Facilitator for Wings of Healing Drug & Alcohol Recovery with Pastor John Johnson at Greater Bethany Community Church under Bishop Robert W. McMurray & Bishop Noel Jones. Pastor Nate has prepared himself to minister to God’s people in many ways. Before joining Shield of Faith Christian Church, he served as Superintendent of Christian Education and Staff Counselor for Zion Hill Church of Los Angeles. He is an Ordained Pastor, Bible Teacher, Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Certified Mental Health Counselor, and a trained Family and Adolescent Counselor.
In June 2016, Pastor Nate’s life took a new turn when he married Dr. Brinetta P. Thomas~Staples, the love of his life. Together, they serve as Associate Pastors at Shield of Faith Christian Center of the Inland Empire, California, under the guidance of Apostle Henry B. and Dr. Marty Alexander (Bishop).
Their union has brought their ministry a new level of dedication and service. They manage several ministerial duties and were recently appointed as Directors of the T.A.M.E. (The Alliance of Ministers and Evangelists) Ministry, which provides support and training to almost 100 pastors and ministers. Pastor Nate also serves as a Staff Pastor and Member Care Director for SOFCC, now in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
